Mystical City Where Humans Spoke with the Gods<\/p>\n<p>In the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, high upon a rocky hill, rises an ancient sanctuary that for centuries has guarded the secrets of the gods. This is Perperikon \u2013 the \u201cStone City,\u201d where legends come alive and history intertwines with myth.<\/p>\n<p>Here, according to ancient tales, an eternal flame once burned in honor of Dionysus, the god of wine and prophecy. The oracle of Dionysus, they say, was so renowned that even Alexander the Great came here to seek a prophecy about his destiny.<\/p>\n<p>Perperikon is not merely a legend. It is a living city carved in stone \u2013 with halls, streets, palaces, and temples hewn directly into the rock. Archaeologists believe that life here flourished more than 8,000 years ago, from the Neolithic period through Late Antiquity.<\/p>\n<p>Every step through this city is a meeting with the past.
